Interior fit-out

Interior fit-out decides whether a shell structure becomes a functional, pleasant home. At SB Bau-Sanierung we handle the complete interior fit-out from screed to the last door frame: drywall, flooring, bathrooms, painting and bespoke fittings, coordinated by a single site supervisor and documented for you, so you always know what lies behind the walls and beneath the floors.

Interior fit-out

What interior fit-out includes

Our interior fit-out covers screeding, drywall (walls, ceilings, cladding), tiling and wet-area waterproofing, painting, doors and frames, and bespoke fittings such as wardrobes and shelving systems. All trades are coordinated by a site supervisor, so you don't have to liaise between multiple crews yourself.

Screed and floor build-up

Screed is executed to a flatness tolerance of ±2 mm per 2.5 metres, checked with a straightedge before any flooring is installed. For underfloor heating, we pressure-test the circuit at 6 bar for 24 hours before the screed is poured — a leaking joint discovered after pouring means total damage to the entire floor.

Waterproofing and tiling

In bathrooms and other wet areas, we work with class W3 liquid membrane waterproofing, applied to ÖNORM B 2232. On many sites this standard remains a mere formality — for us, every waterproofing layer is checked and photographed before tiling begins.

Drywall and dust protection

For ongoing renovations in occupied or partially used buildings, we use zoning and negative-pressure techniques to prevent dust spreading to other areas. This is especially relevant when only certain rooms or floors are being fitted out.

Handover and documentation

At the end of every interior fit-out, you receive a clean, move-in-ready handover plus full technical documentation: which materials were installed where, where services run behind the walls, and the inspection records for each critical stage. This spares you unpleasant surprises years later when drilling or renovating.

Frequently asked questions

How long does a complete interior fit-out take for a family home?

For a home of around 150 m², we estimate 3 to 5 months for the complete interior fit-out, depending on the level of finish and drying time for each trade.

Can I choose certain materials myself?

Yes, you choose tiling, flooring, sanitary fixtures and colours from our range, or bring your own samples. We advise on technical suitability for each room.

Do you work in occupied homes, or only new builds?

We carry out interior fit-out work in occupied or partially used properties as well, with dust-protection measures and adjusted working hours to minimise disruption.

What happens if a defect appears after handover?

Any defect reported during the warranty period is fixed free of charge. Full technical documentation helps identify the cause quickly.

Do you also offer bespoke furniture, such as walk-in wardrobes?

Yes, we build custom fittings — walk-in wardrobes, shelving systems and made-to-measure pieces, tailored to the room's geometry and your requirements.

How do you make sure the underfloor heating doesn't leak?

We pressure-test every heating circuit before the screed is poured, at 6 bar for 24 hours. This way, a leaking joint is caught before it disappears beneath the screed.

How long does the screed need to dry before flooring is installed?

Depending on the screed type and thickness, 1 to 4 weeks of drying time is typical. We measure residual moisture with a CM device and only release the floor once it's within the permitted limit.

Do you also handle removal of old materials during a renovation?

Yes, hauling away and properly disposing of old flooring, tiles and construction debris is part of our service on renovation projects.

What warranty applies to tiling and painting work?

We provide the statutory 3-year warranty on all interior fit-out work, and beyond that period for proven execution defects.

Can I use certain rooms during the interior fit-out?

For phased renovations, this is possible if we stage the work by room or floor. We discuss the sequence in advance to minimise disruption to your daily routine.
